day 127

The day of the big garage sale.  I feel like we/ve been preparing for this for months.  Despite the horrible rain, we were successful.  The boy had a lemonade and cookie stand, he did great!  He sold out of cookies pretty fast.  He was delighted.... but told my mom later, that he was tired, becuase it is a lot of work for a five year old to run a lemonade stand all by himself.

day 126

Breakfast at Timothy's :)  The boy and I had a breakfast date this morning.  There was no school today, so it was the perfect opportunity to have a little special Mommy and Son time.   I love having this special time with just the two of us.  Sometimes we have pretty neat conversations... and sometimes we just relax.  Whatever the mood, it is nice to take a break from everyday routine.

day 125

Gambare! Japan! (I believe the translations is Rise Up! Japan!... correct me if I'm wrong)  Tonight there was a fundraiser at the boy's school for earthquake and tsuanmi relief in Japan. His school has a great Japanese Enrichment program - so the devastation that hit Japan has been on the hearts and minds of many of the students and staff.  There were games, sumo wrestling, various demonstrations, oragami and Japanese food.... including Japanese hot dogs!?  It was a fun evening.

day 124

I have been waiting for these tulips for awhile .. insert cheesy joke here...  I planted a few bulbs last fall, and only two of them have shown any promise.  This one is the first to almost bloom.

day 121

After Church this morning, we went down to the river to try out the boy's kite.  And alhtough it was breezy, it wasn't enough to fly our kite.  Oh well, we had fun.  Lots of great photos.  Well, until we got home tonight and I started editing them.  The comment "Oh, my fly was down the whole time we were out" from my husband is kind of funny, until you realize that, yes, his fly was down the whole time we were out...and fairly obvious in most of the pictures he was in.  Poor guy...
